Floating Fashion Vol. 1: A Journey Beyond the Runway
In September 2024, Turtlehorn took fashion off the streets and onto the water with Floating Fashion - Vol. 1. Held during the buzz of New York Fashion Week, this one-of-a-kind event combined fashion, art, music, and poetry aboard a breathtaking cruise through the city’s iconic skyline.
.
The show unveiled Collection X, our latest casual-glam streetwear line with upcycled materials and a socio-critical concept: challenging the superficial norms of the fashion world. Each piece reflected our commitment to sustainability by the integration of our current investigation project about polymer waste materials, individuality, and social responsibility, inviting the audience to think differently about what fashion can mean and achieve.
More Than just a Show
Floating Fashion wasn’t just a runway event—it was an experience. Guests were immersed in a multi-sensory journey featuring music, live poetry, and even a striking performance by Frank Castro, who co-curated the event within our small but growing team. His talent as a DJ, poet, and fakir performer added layers of depth and energy, creating a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
Floating Fashion wasn’t just a Turtlehorn event—it was our debut as producers of a fully independent show in New York City. This milestone brought together a lineup of incredible artists, designers, emerging talents, and brands, all carefully curated by our team. On this NYFW edition in September 2024, we had the German Jewelry brand Frank Jewels on board, complementing Turtlehorn's new Collection X, following with shows of Yvonne Liao NYC and MESSCALINO from Barcelona, Spain.
Each participant embodied the values of sustainable fashion while drawing inspiration from artistic influences, making the event a true celebration of creativity and innovation.
Beyond Fashion
We blend fashion and art in a performative way by transforming a traditional runway show into a multi-sensory experience. Each collection is presented through curated performances—such as live poetry, music, and avant-garde acts—that complement the themes and aesthetics of the designs. Each artist could implement a performative act, or hold a small fashion presentation.
During the boat ride, talented performers Kadii, Stannakah, and Black Ken captivated the audience with their powerful acts between each show, creating a seamless flow of fashion and music against the stunning backdrop of New York City’s skyline.

Stay Tuned for Vol. 2
Vol. 1 was just the start of what we envision as a series of groundbreaking fashion experiences. By breaking away from traditional formats, Floating Fashion aims to explore fresh ways of showcasing fashion and art and ideas while celebrating inclusive fashion in a creative and unique way.
Looking ahead, we’re already planning the next edition of Floating Fashion. This time, we’re curating an even more inspiring program, pushing the boundaries of fashion further while celebrating self-expression and creativity in bold new ways.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this remarkable debut. Whether you were with us on the boat or are just discovering us now, we invite you to follow our journey as we keep pushing the limits of what fashion can be.
